Mistero Buffo is a youth center in Acireale, in the province of Catania, first established in the year 2000. The center consists of three no-profit association: Circolo Arci Babilonia, Legambiente Acireale and Scarti, each of them dealing with different areas of youth engagement and citizens participation such as culture, environment and video-making.
In 2020, marking the 20th anniversary of the center, the center wanted to renew its visual identity with a more modern looking logo.
For its new visual identity, the center wanted to mantain somehow the iconic jester’s hat that has been part of its identity since its beginnings in the early 2000s. My idea was to merge the letter M and the hat in a single graphic symbol while using a vibrant color palette.
The full typography encorporates the logo and uses it as the capital letter of the center’s name.
